Lowrys Hobbies was stared in 1970 as a mail-order business for wargamers and modelers. By the beginning of 1972, the Lowrys Hobbies catalog needed updating more often than could easily be done. Lowry’s Guidon was primarily a vehicle to update the catalog without having to produce a whole new one every few months. But, it also carried articles, and would have eventually become a full magazine if not for the sale of Panzerfaust to Don Lowry early in 1972.
Fox Den is republishing this ‘almost magazine’ as a little-known artifact of the early ’70s wargaming scene. Each PDF contains “The Fox Hole”, a column giving current commentary and context on the contents of the issue.
